Important Weather Alerts for Chino

The National Weather Service has issued several urgent weather warnings that may affect our community in the coming days. These conditions bring heightened risks for high winds, wildfire danger, power outages and frost. Please review the details below and take necessary steps to protect your family, property, and neighbors.

High Wind Warning

When: Through January 15, 6 PM
What: Winds 15–25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, especially near the Cajon Pass.
Action: Use caution while driving, particularly high-profile vehicles. Report tree debris or request City tree maintenance using the My Chino App, visit www.cityofchino.org/report or call 909-334-3266.

Red Flag Warning

When: Through January 15, 6 PM
What: Strong Santa Ana winds (gusts up to 75 mph) and low humidity increase wildfire risk.
Action: Avoid outdoor burning, secure loose items, and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately.

Potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)

When: Through January 16, 12 PM
What: Southern California Edison (SCE) may shut off power in high-risk areas to reduce fire risk.
Action: Prepare emergency supplies and monitor updates. Visit sce.com/outage for real-time information.

Frost Advisory

When: Mornings of January 13 and January 14 through 9 AM
What: Temperatures as low as 29 will result in frost formation.
Action: Protect your pets and plants during the overnight cold.
