Applications for the Teen Advisory Committee (TAC) 2023-2024 school year are now open! Established by the City of Chino to gain vital input on teen issues, participation in the TAC provides an opportunity for teens to promote greater youth involvement in the community and to engage in municipal government. The TAC consists of seven voting members, two alternate members, and three members-at-large. TAC members are appointed annually based on a competitive application process.
The TAC provides a forum where teens are able to identify youth-related issues of concern and serve in an advisory capacity to the Community Services Commission. Participation in the TAC provides hands-on leadership training and makes civic engagement accessible to the community’s future leaders.
Applications for the TAC are available at www.cityofchino.org/teens. Participation is limited to Chino residents in grades 8 - 11. Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Neighborhood Activity Center, 5201 D Street, or via e-mail. Once applications have been reviewed, staff will contact applicants to schedule interviews. Teens can learn more about the TAC at www.cityofchino.org/teens. Those interested in seeing the TAC in action can attend the TAC monthly meetings, which take place at 6:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month, from September through May, in the Council Chambers at Chino City Hall.
TAC membership is a great way to exercise your leadership muscles, meet other civic-minded teens, and play a role in building Chino’s future. Fill out and submit your application today! If you have questions about requirements or eligibility, please contact the TAC Liaison at (909) 334-3260.
