[ARCHIVED] March Business of the Month

Los Portales

The Chino City Council recognized Los Portales Mexican Restaurant (12542 Central Ave) as the Business of the Month during a council meeting earlier this week. The local gem, which has been operating for over 19 years, firmly believes that dining should always be a special occasion and that its staff will ensure your experience falls nothing short of extraordinary. It is this type of hospitality that holds Los Portales dear to the hearts of the Chino community.

Los Portales is known for serving delicious and authentic recipes originating from Sombrete, Zacatecas, Mexico. The restaurant is named after a well-known downtown area of this quaint city, literally meaning "the arches or portals." Zacatecas is known for its evening strolls, romantic meetings by the garden, and a hang-out spot with friends.

The Ayala family, who owns and operates Los Portales, loves helping the Chino community. They regularly host fundraisers for schools, churches, law enforcement, and non-profits, and support an annual toy drive, among many other things. They also make a point to promote other neighboring businesses on social media and encourage others to visit and support other wonderful restaurants in the city.

Upon moving to Chino in 1989, the Ayala family was charmed by Chino's small-town feel and the amazing community. Over time, they became part of this tight-knit community and established connections with the Mayor, City Council, School Board, Police Department, Chamber of Commerce, and many others, which confirmed their choice of locating Los Portales in Chino.

Congratulations to Los Portales Mexican Restaurant for investing in our community and providing an amazing dining experience to the City of Chino.

Nominate a business for a future business of the month.
