Chino’s annual Fireworks Spectacular celebration is expanding to two days this year, June 28-29, at Ayala Park, 14225 Central Avenue.  Sponsored by the City of Chino and Chino Girls Fastpitch, the event will start on Friday with a food court, carnival rides, and games from 4:00-10:00 p.m.  Saturday will start at 1:00 p.m. and will feature food, carnival rides, games, live entertainment, and “A Salute to Our Armed Forces Heroes” (a photo slideshow presentation honoring active service members and veterans).  A spectacular fireworks show will begin at
9:00 p.m. and the event ends at 10:00 p.m.

The Community Services Department is looking for Information and Retail vendors to participate in this year’s event on Saturday, June 29.  The application deadline is May 3, or until all spots are filled.   Requests for an application can be made by calling the Carolyn Owens Community Center at (909) 334-3258.  Applications can also be picked up at the Carolyn Owens Community Center, 13201 Central Avenue or downloaded from the City’s website at https://bit.ly/2KRTsUH.

Community volunteers are also needed to help conduct this large event.  Service organizations, church groups, youth groups, teens, and individuals, ages 14 and up, are needed to help with event setup and breakdown, checking in vendors, and general event supervision.  Interested parties can contact the Volunteer Coordinator at (909) 334-3261 or view volunteer opportunities at www.cityofchino.org/volunteer.
