60 Swarm

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will begin a paving project on State Route 60 (SR 60) on Monday, July 22, 2019 to repair deteriorated pavement slabs from Euclid Avenue in Ontario to the 60/91/215 Junction in Riverside. Caltrans will also begin a bridge project in fall 2019 on SR 60 to replace Pipeline Avenue, Monte Vista Avenue and Benson Avenue bridge structures. The combination of these two projects and two other local interchange projects has been dubbed the “60 Swarm”.

KB Sinkhold Bickmore

Bickmore Avenue

Update 7/22/19
Bickmore is now open. Thank you for your patience as we worked with the developer to get Bickmore Avenue back to safe and driveable conditions.

Update 6/15/19
Work continues on Bickmore Avenue at a steady pace. The plan for completion is the week of July 22nd as the contractor encountered an unmarked Communications line, continued water intrusion into the trench, a broken water main, and the recent rain storm in mid May which slowed the progress of work. The crew is currently in the process of repaving about 300 feet of Bickmore now and will continue to proceed westerly into early July.

Thank you for your patience as we work with KB Homes to get Bickmore back to safe and driveable conditions.

Update May 4: After extensive testing at the site of the sinkhole on Bickmore Avenue, a plan for repairs has been drafted and work has already begun.

The initial phase of the plan will focus on sewer work, then concurrent work will begin on the storm drain and finally street repairs will take place during the last phase of work. Much of the work will be completed 20 feet underground and over 1,000 feet in length.
During the duration of the project, work is being observed and inspected by the City and testing of the soil is on-going. The work is scheduled to be completed in approximately 60 calendar days but may be shortened depending on the amount of groundwater encountered.

We realize this is a significant inconvenience to those living and traveling in the surrounding area and we sincerely appreciate your patience as we work to get Bickmore back to safe and driveable conditions.
