Starting Your Small Business

Are you an entrepreneur?  Have you thought of starting your own small business?  Do you need some assistance with learning about what information is available to you?  Then let the City of Chino help! The City’s Economic Development staff is here to help you begin.
The City partners with many agencies that provide assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs. Many of these partnering agencies have valuable information to help you learn more about what you need to succeed as a small business owner.
Resources and information available include:

• The Chino Business Resource Center (Chino BRC) provides a place to attend workshops and seminars; meet with a business consultant, at no cost; and access the Business Plan Library, which includes resources on how to write your business plan, as well as other information to help you get started.
• The County of San Bernardino Economic Development Agency provides valuable information about doing business in San Bernardino County.
• California State University San Bernardino’s Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship (IECE), a resource dedicated to providing entrepreneurship education; training; research; internships; and other valuable tools to help you become a successful entrepreneur, such as the Four Keys to a Successful Start-up.
• Public utilities such as Southern California Gas Company, Southern California Edison, and the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA).   These utility partners offer various assistance and incentives to businesses.
• The Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce provides opportunities to network with the business community and increases exposure for businesses in the Chino Valley. The Chamber also provides business counseling through members of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives).
